HORAS BAH! Welcome to Medan! Our team will be ready to greet you at Kualanamu International Airport and take you on a scenic drive to Parapat, a charming town located on the shores of Lake Toba.

Along the journey, you’ll pass through lush rubber and palm oil plantations, and small towns like Tebing Tinggi and Pematang Siantar. We’ll make a quick stop at Toko Paten, a popular shop where you can buy traditional Siantar snacks and souvenirs.

Next, we’ll visit the tranquil Vihara Dewi Kwan Im, a serene Buddhist temple that offers a peaceful moment for reflection.

Upon arrival in Parapat, we’ll proceed to check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the lakeside atmosphere.

Optional: If hotels in Parapat are fully booked, you will cross by public ferry to Samosir Island, located in the heart of Lake Toba, and check in at a hotel there.

After breakfast, get ready to explore Samosir Island, a unique island located in the middle of Lake Toba. Our tour begins with a visit to Tomok Village, where you’ll find the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar, an important cultural and historical landmark of the Batak heritage.

Next, we head to Ambarita Village, known for its stone chairs and execution site, once used by Batak tribal leaders. During the tour, you’ll also have time to browse and shop for traditional Batak souvenirs—great mementos to remember your visit.

After completing the tour, we return by ferry to Parapat, then continue our journey to Berastagi, a highland town known for its cool climate and scenic beauty. The drive offers breathtaking views of Lake Toba, vegetable plantations, and lush hillsides.

We’ll make a short stop at Simarjarunjung, a scenic hilltop viewpoint where you can enjoy the fresh air while sipping bandrek (a traditional warm spiced drink) and fried bananas (at your own expense).

Upon arrival in Berastagi, we’ll check in to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, we begin our journey back to Medan, which takes approximately 2.5 hours, passing through the scenic tropical forests of Sumatra.

Before leaving Berastagi, we’ll stop for a short visit to Lumbini Natural Park, home to the stunning Burmese-style Golden Pagoda—a serene, photogenic landmark perfect for peaceful reflection and great photos.

Once we arrive in Medan, our city tour begins with a visit to Vihara Gunung Timur, the city’s oldest and largest Mahayana Buddhist temple. We’ll then continue to Maimun Palace, a magnificent heritage site from the Sultanate of Deli, known for its unique architecture and royal charm.

Next, we explore the historical Tjong A Fie Mansion, the elegant former residence of one of Medan’s most influential Chinese merchants and philanthropists. Located in Kesawan Old Town, this mansion offers a glimpse into Medan’s multicultural past.

Before ending the day, we’ll stop at The Noerlen Passionfruit Home Industry, a beloved local gem where you can see how passionfruit syrup (markisa) is made—and take home a delicious souvenir!

What a wonderful way to wrap up our last full day in North Sumatra.
